Onion mango chutney is a traditional summer recipe. This spicy tangy chutney is a must in every Marathi family.
You can use it as a nice dip, a sandwich spread or also as a dressing. You can pair this chutney with Idlis, Dosa, dhoklas. fritters, and pancakes and let your loved ones savour the taste of this yummy dip.
1/2 cup peeled and grated raw mango
1/2 cup finely chopped onions
2 tbsp jaggery powder
1/4 tsp black salt
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp roasted cumin seeds powder
1/4 tsp roasted fenugreek seeds powder
Pinch of asafetida
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp chopped green chillies
Cooking Steps To Make Onion Mango Chutney
Wash the raw mango thoroughly, remove the skin and grate it.
Take a large onion and finely chop it.
Combine mango, onion, salt and jaggery together in a bowl and keep it aside.
Heat the oil in a pan and add mustard seeds.
When it pops, add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, fenugreek powder, cumin seeds powder and asafetida
Pour this seasoned oil on the mango onion mixture.
Give it a good mix and the chutney is ready.
