Dalia Khichdi is an easy-to-make recipe which can be prepared in around 40 minutes. The main ingredients used in this recipe are broken wheat (dalia) and moong dal that are super-nutritious. The recipe is very healthy, easy to digest, one pot meal

Moong dal is low in fat content and very high on protein. In fact, moong dal is considered to be one of the best plant-based sources of protein.
Ingredients of Dalia Khichdi
⅓ cup Dalia (Broken wheat)
⅓ cup Yellow moong (lentil) dal (split and skinless)
1 tablespoon ghee
½ teaspoon Cumin seeds
1 Green chili, chopped finely
1 teaspoon Ginger chopped finely ½ cup Tomato, chopped
½ cup Green peas
8–10 French Beans, cut into 1 inch pieces
6 – 8 cauliflower florets
½ cup Carrot chopped
1 Potato, quartered
Salt to taste
½ tsp Turmeric powder
1 tsp Red chili powder
1 teaspoon Coriander powder
½ teaspoon Garam masala powder
2 ½ cups Water
2 tbsp coriander leaves chopped finely
Steps to make
Wash the broken wheat (dalia) and dal (lentils) properly, and soak them in enough water to cover them for at least 30 minutes or up to two hours. This helps them cook faster.
Heat ghee in a pressure cooker on medium heat. Once hot add cumin seeds, let them crackle.
Now saute in green chili and ginger for few seconds.
Mix in veggies – tomato, French beans, peas, capsicum, carrot, cauliflower, potatoes and cook for a minute.
Add salt and also add turmeric, red chili, coriander powder and garam masala, mix very well.
Add washed dalia and moong dal. Mix well.
Add water and stir.
Cover the cooker with lid, and cook for 4 whistles on medium heat.
Once pressure releases, open the lid.
