Caramel coconut balls/ladoo is quick and very easy to put together. This is a twist to the regular coconut ladoo and is a treat for sweet lovers. It has the rich flavor of coconut and caramel. This ladoo has a few extra steps like making caramel, but its is definitely worth the effort. Try this recipe, you will surely love it.
Condensed milk caramelised – 1 cup
Dried desiccated coconut – 2 cups
Cardamom – ½tsp
Vanilla extract – 1 tsp
Directions to make caramel coconut balls
Place an unopened can of condensed milk in a sauce pan and cover it with water. Make sure that the tin is completely submerged under water.
Boil it covered for 2 hours. Remove the can and allow to cool down completely. The content will be really hot and is not safe to open at this stage. Then, open it.
Pour out 1 cup of this caramelised condensed milk in a bowl. Add dessicated coconut, cardamom powder and vanilla extract. Mix them thoroughly and shape them into small ladoos (balls).
Then, roll the balls on shredded coconut and then allow to cool off completely.
Serve it and enjoy!!
