This chatpata oats chaat recipe is prepared with the goodness of oats, cornflakes and vegetables like potatoes, cucumber and tomato. It is extremely easy to prepare and only minimum cooking is required. This easy recipe is an amazing healthy option when you are craving to binge in unhealthy food. 1 cup oats
½ cup Corn Flakes cereal
1 cup Boiled chickpeas
½ cup Potatoes, boiled and cubed
½ cup Cucumber chopped
1/2 tsp roasted cumin seeds powder
½ cup Tomato, chopped
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 Green chillies, chopped finely
Cilantro or coriander leaves, chopped finely
¼ teaspoon Black pepper powder
1 tablespoon Lemon juice
Salt to taste
1 cup Plain yogurt
¼ teaspoon Black salt
How to make Oats Chaat
This recipe will require a little pre-work. You need to soak chickpeas overnight and then you have to boil them!
Now, wash potatoes and place them in a pressure cooker. Pour water in it and boil the potatoes. On the other hand, finely chop cilantro and green chillies and keep them aside. Also, once the potatoes are boiled, cut them into cubes. Chop tomatoes and cucumbers.
Next, place a frying pan over medium flame and add oats in the pan. Roast them without oil until light brown in colour. Transfer the roasted oats into a bowl.
Now, add yoghurt and salt in the bowl and mix well. Keep this bowl aside. Take another bowl and add cornflakes, soaked and boiled chickpeas, potatoes, onion, cucumbers, tomatoes, cilantro, coriander leaves, roasted peanuts, roasted cumin seeds powder, black pepper, salt, green chillies and mix again. Drizzle lemon juice and mix all the ingredients well.
Then combine both the prepared mixtures and mix all the ingredients well.
Serve with tamarind chutney and green chutney.
You can also add flaxseeds, sunflower seeds or nuts, pomegranates in this chaat, to boost the nutritional profile of this recipe.
