The recipe for green gram pancake is extremely simple and healthy. A healthy option for breakfast, power-packed with fibres, vitamins, and protein. The recipe is made with green gram. So, it is healthy and nutritious and a perfect recipe to start your day!
Green gram is high in nutrients and antioxidants, which may provide health benefits. In fact, they may protect against heat stroke, aid digestive health, promote weight loss and lower “bad” LDL cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar levels.
The addition of the vegetables is another important factor that makes the recipe healthier.
Ingredients of Green gram Pancake
1 cup green gram
1/2 cup yoghurt (dairy or non-dairy, as per your preference)
Water, as per required
1/4 cup grated carrots
1/2 onion, chopped
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp bengal gram flour (besan)
chopped green chillies
chopped mint leaves
chopped coriander leaves
salt, as per taste.
Oilve oil, for cooking
Soak the green gram in normal water for overnight, or you can also soak them in hot water for 2 hours.
Drain the water and keep aside.
Combine green gram, yoghurt, mint leaves, coriander leaves in a mixer and blend it till smooth.
Transfer the batter in a bowl. Then add onions, carrots, besan, turmeric podwer, salt in it. Mix well and keep aside.
Pour a ladleful of batter onto a hot pan and spread gently. Pour ½ tsp of olive oil over pancakes. Cover and allow cooking on a medium flame for a minute, now flip the pancake and cook both sides pressing gently.
