Recipe of homemade chocolate banana ice cream
When ripe frozen bananas and cocoa powder are combined together in a blender you get a creamy, guilt-free, scrumptious frozen treat. It’s also gluten-free and vegan. Two ingredients and a blender, that’s all you need.
Chocolate banana ice cream is really quick to make especially if your bananas are already frozen. I usually keep a container full of bananas in the freezer so that I can make an individual serving whenever I want.
For sweeter ice cream, always use bananas that are very ripe. If you use unripe bananas, you may need to add honey or maple syrup for sweetness.
Let the bananas ripen before peeling. Once ripe, peel the bananas, cut into pieces, and freeze them.
When the bananas are fully frozen, toss them into a blender.
Add cocoa powder, honey (optional), 1/4 cup almond milk into it and blend until you achieve a consistency that resembles soft serve.
Once the soft-serve texture is reached, scoop it into a container and freeze for 1-2 hour, then scoop out with an ice cream scoop.
This will give you a firmer banana chocolate ice cream texture.
You can also add nuts into it for better nutrition!
This soft serve ice cream is super healthy – no heavy cream or added sugars, and it is fat-free, dairy-free, vegan, raw, paleo, & gluten-free.
